Tracto

Client Tracto-Technik GmbH & Co. KG, headquartered in Lennestadt-Saalhausen, is an internationally active, owner-managed family business specializing in the construction of special machinery for the underground laying and renewal of pipelines.
Goal After overhauling the brand, Tracto needed the changes to be applied in the digital space as well. In order for the system to be future proof, it had to be flexible and simple, while not sacrificing key functionalities. So the goal was a website with inbuilt CMS and PIM system, that is easy to understand and use for potential clients, as well as the editorial staff of the company.

Inform, persuade, impress

As the products Tracto sells are quite unique on the market and have a broad range of applications, they need a bit of explanation – especially for the uniformed user. Several modules and subpages serve that purpose. They not only inform about the products and the company, but also convey competence and experience in the field of trenchless technology.

From Requirements to Prototype

In the beginning we had a large list of requirements that needed structure and prioritization. From those initial requirements we worked out a rough information architecture, which we further developed with the help of user scenarios, that were created in close cooperation with the client.

After the requirements and information architecture where set, I translated those into wireframes – again in close cooperation with the client. Those served as the basis for the final high-fidelity prototype.
